I’ve been looking forward to Spike and Charlie’s Kintbury wedding for absolutely aaaaages. From what I’d learnt about what they had planned for the day I knew their wedding was going to be pretty unique. I’m fortunate to have shot a number of Berkshire weddings and it was lovely to hop on the M4 for this one.
Vibrant sunflower bouquets from Sarah Styles floristry, coordinated with the cute hand-dyed yellow bridesmaids shoes. After an emotional wedding ceremony at St Marys Church in Kintbury a procession of cars made the short drive to Orpenham Barn Farm – seriously, look at the ceiling, this barn is a stunner and bedeck with candelabras and Bristol blue glass on the tables it was an impressive sight.
Spike and Charlie also happened to have picked the most beautiful naked wedding cake I’ve ever seen – and I confess to tiptoeing nervously as I photographed it, terrified that it might topple over because it was just so BIG! Hopefully you’ll see from my photos below that this cake really was something out of this (cake) world.
I think my favourite moment of the wedding day was during the wedding breakfast, as guests found their places at their tables and discovered the individual Limoncello bottle favours, a ripple spread across the barn as table by table every guest climbed on to their chairs and downed their Limoncello to huge cheers and laughter (and to a cheeky bottom flash from one kilt wearer).
I’m not going to write much more because the photos should do the talking. But massive congratulations to both Spike & Charlie and a colossal thank you for having me along.
If you are getting married in Kintbury or are currently looking for a Berkshire wedding photographer then do get in touch as I’d love to hear about your wedding plans.
