Hannah and Conrad created, planned and pulled off a pretty spectacular DIY festival wedding in Avebury this Summer complete with ferrets, a surprise brass band, tasty food vans and crazy dancing – oh and Conrad’s Dad even did a rap in real hip hop stylee, complete with swagger!
After the fun of photographing the getting ready stages at Hannah’s Avening home, I ran down the hill to photograph the service in the local village church, a stones throw from their front door. After the service, guests spilled out into the sunshine ready to congratulate Hannah and Conrad. Whilst there is nothing more colourful than a confetti photo,Hannah and Conrad both decided to provide guests with bird seed to throw rather than confetti, as with all the wildlife in the village they thought it would be a nice treat for the furry locals. It was really funny seeing Hannah trying to retrieve bird seed from her hair and down the front of her wedding dress after a good dosing in seed!Continue reading →
Pre-Wedding Engagement Photography in Avening, Cotswolds with Becky Male Photography
A brilliant, sunny morning spent in Avening for Hannah and Conrad’s engagement shoot. After ‘chewing the fat’ at their enormous kitchen table the three of us went for a little wander. We climbed up a hill, enjoyed the views and the rare sun, then returned for some images closer to their home. I always knew Lauren and Daniel’s Hyde Barn wedding was going to be something special. Having booked me to photograph their day over two years ago I knew that during that time alot of time, effort and research went into planning the day of their dreams, so when the day finally arrived it was definitely worth the wait.
Why was this wedding so special? Lots of reasons; the hilarious 6:00pm game of Mr & Mrs, bottles filled with bright coloured flowers hanging from the trees, the outdoor ceremony watched by a herd of inquisitive cows, the Groomsmen’s rainbow socks, the bond between Lauren and her Grandma which saw them both holding in their tears but most of all the incredible warmth and love of both families who couldn’t hide their genuine delight at seeing Lauren and Daniel tie the knot.
Remember those three weeks when it was hot across the UK last Summer? Alice & Neil’s engagement session took place on one of those hot, hot, hot afternoons and it was so much fun! A secret garden swing, barley fields and then a wibby, woobly tandem bike ride. I had that feeling that I’m immensely lucky to be photographing Alice & Neil and I know that right at that moment when they say ‘I do’ there won’t be a dry eye in the house (well, technically the barn)!
With Fergal and Katherine’s wedding preparations in full swing for their October wedding, I caught up with them recently at Berkeley Castle for their pre-wedding shoot. I’d never been to visit the Castle before but Fergal filled me in on all the history and scary goings on that occurred there over the years, including what happened to Edward II …..
