Alice and Ben found me after I photographed Alice’s best friends wedding back in 2016, she’d been Maid of Honour to her friend Jade at the time and got in touch with me a last year asking me to shoot her own wedding.
We met at beautiful Dyrham Park, a National Trust property located just outside of Bath. It was a really lovely sunny day and it was great to take a walk with these two and discuss their plans, shooting some relaxed portraits along the way. Our highlight aside from the fantastic views we got of the house whilst walking down the hill was seeing the deer, so many of them!
Getting engaged is one of the exciting parts of any relationship. My husband and I recently celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary, yet I remember so clearly how it felt in the weeks and months after we decided to tie the knot. For anyone who has just got engaged, I wanted to share the advice I’ve gathered, for making the most of the wonderful glow which surrounds your proposal:
Remember those three weeks when it was hot across the UK last Summer? Alice & Neil’s engagement session took place on one of those hot, hot, hot afternoons and it was so much fun! A secret garden swing, barley fields and then a wibby, woobly tandem bike ride. I had that feeling that I’m immensely lucky to be photographing Alice & Neil and I know that right at that moment when they say ‘I do’ there won’t be a dry eye in the house (well, technically the barn)!
