The language of love was in full flow when Danny and Francesca (aka Chess) met at Bath Uni when they were both studying for a degree in Spanish and Italian. After falling for each other over their text books they got engaged and then began planning this beautiful Wick Farm wedding.
When I arrived at the Arylington Hotel in Bath where Chess was getting ready, the sun was baking down. Chess and her bridesmaids (plus a cardboard cut out of Chess and Danny’s beloved cat) were getting ready with the doors flung open and the excitement in the room was infectious. Getting ready is always one of my favourite parts of the day to photograph and with Chess’s favourite music playing, four excited bridesmaids and champagne flowing it was a lovely morning. Chess’s wedding shoes are by Nine West and her stunning wedding dress is from the Vera Wang White collection. Ace bridesmaid Coralie did make up and I am coveting Chess’s romantic hair style. The hand tied bouquets are by Honeysuckle Flowers.
After hopping in the car for the short journey to Wick Farm I arrived to photograph guests arriving and capture a few images of the ceremony room before it filled with friends and family. With beautiful high ceilings and 600 year old beams this really is a special place to get married. The love for Chess and Danny was evident all day and it was a pleasure to be around their guests who so clearly loved this amazing couple and got a real buzz being privy to them tying the knot. Banter, smiles and a coveted bouquet toss made my job as fun as always.
Danny and Chess chose a herb garden theme as Danny is a keen gardener and their engagement happened in a herb garden, it looked simply stylish. Following the ceremony Chess, Danny and their friends and families spent the afternoon and evening celebrating before hopping on to the dance floor for their first dance. DJ, Nick Burnett kept the party on the dance floor all night.
Here are a few of my favourites.
